LAKE PLACID - The Adirondack Chill Softball Club will host the ninth annual Lake Placid Family Dental Invitational tournament Friday through Sunday.

The competition will be tough as the teams coming in include the 2017 New York state 16-and-under B runner-up St. Lawrence Thunder, as well as two 18U teams - Adirondack White Lightening and Vermont Screaming Eagles. Rounding out the field will be the Hudson Valley Vengeance from Saugerties.

The American Legion Post 326 Player of the Game award will be given to one player from each team in the preliminary round games. The games will be played at the Kordziel Athletic Complex next to the North Elba Show Grounds and at the Lake Placid Elementary School.

Opening ceremonies will take place Friday at 5:45 p.m. at Kordziel just prior to the Chill opening up the tournament against the Adirondack White Lightening.

The Adirondack Chill is a travel softball program of the Lake Placid Youth Athletic Association. This year's team consists of 13 players from seven different school districts.
