PYEONGCHANG, South Korea - Erin Hamlin finished sixth in her fourth and final Olympics, the best of the three American women in the race.

The luge racer from Remsen, New York, just outside the Adirondack Park toward Utica, won a bronze medal at the 2014 games in Russia. She has said she will retire after this season, move back home and marry her fiance.

Her teammate Emily Sweeney crashed on her final run and after several minutes of being attended to by medical personnel was helped off the track. Sweeney grew up in Connecticut, but her father is from Saranac Lake and she owns a house in Lake Placid.

Teammate Summer Britcher had set a track record on her second run Monday but had a terrible fourth heat and dropped from ninth place to 19th.

Natalie Geisenberger of Germany won the gold medal, Dajana Eitberger of Germany took silver, and Alex Gough of Canada got the bronze.
