Earth Day reminds us to take steps to help our planet
April 20, 2018

Soon the snow, ice and grayness of winter will be replaced light green leaves, rich green grass and flowers of all colors. This renewal of the earth has been happening for centuries, but it is increasingly under threat if we don't tend to its health.

Earth Day is this Sunday, April 22, and we can all take action to help sustain a healthy environment.

Many of us are already taking steps to be more efficient in our use of water, energy and recycling. However, it doesn't hurt to be reminded or to learn more about how we can save our precious non-renewable resources for future generations.

Just the shortage of water in the world has led to desperate conditions: crops dying, famine, drought, disease and even war. That is why it is so important to do all we can to make choices that will sustain all life.

All it takes is small action steps to take care of our planet. After all, we cannot help the world until we change our way of being in it.

The degradation of the environment will get worse if we don't become aware of our actions and how they affect those around us. We encourage you to think about how you can make choices in your daily life that will have a positive improvement on our environment. Start making small steps now that, once you develop them into a daily habit, you will find easy. You'll also feel good about helping the next generations to come.
